I got a new job!

Hallelujah!

I am a lawyer.  And lawyers have been one of the hardest hit professional groups during this recession.  There are too many law schools, too many lawyers and too few jobs.  For the past year (since I graduated and passed the bar exam/got licensed), I worked at a mid-sized law firm.  But, alas, work ran dry and some of us newbies were laid off.

I was laid off two months before my Honey Bear deployed. That made for an interesting job search. But today, I finally got offered a job AND it is in the field I want to work! And so, at the end of the month, I will pack up my stuff and drive it off to a town 2.5 hours from here.

On an even brighter side, this move brings me 2.5 hours closer to Honey Bear when he gets home! A four hour drive is very doable, so I can see him EVERY weekend until we get hitched! ::insert moon walk::

Woooooooo!

  1. Hi, I'm Lindsey! I saw you wrote on my little wall on militarySOS. What does your new job entail? Are you still going to be practicing law? I have NO idea what I'm going to do. I graduate in May. We'll be at Fort Campbell (where there is no legal market) for about a year. It's 45 minutes to an hour outside of Nashville, doable, but not the most ideal commute for a newly married couple! :( Any advice? I can't wait to hear more about you and your job! You're the first attorney/military wife I've ever found!! :)
